DAY 27 - Resting In God
DAY 27
Read: Exodus 14:13-14
The Israelites when they were at the Red sea, thought that this was the end, they were going to drown and die. They were angry, grumbled and complained to Moses. Moses assured them not to be afraid but to stand by and see God’s salvation, that God will fight for them. It is important for us to be calm, to rest in God and trust in His awesome power. God will fight our battles for us. God knows our problems, the crisis we face, our fears. He calls us to recognize Him and to be assured that He is with us. The God who deeply loves us walks with us and will take care of us. We have nothing to fear.
We can go through life with Him by our side. We need to learn to be still and know that He is God, to rest and relax in God, to enjoy God in the quietness of our hearts, to be preoccupied in His love as we respond to life around us. (Psalm 46:10)
We need to develop the art of resting in God, to cease striving. God is in absolute control of our lives; He will give us the strength and grace to go through the difficult times. As He makes all things beautiful in His time, we can rest in Him, taking on each day, each task and serving Him.
:: Prayer ::Lord Jesus, forgive us for multitasking, for being so deeply occupied with many things. Our fears and our worries dominate us that we are unable to enjoy the quietness of your love in our lives. Transform us dear Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
