DAY 31 - Overcoming Fear

DAY 31

Read: Psalm 53

As we continue to meditate on Psalm 53:5,6 we learn that often we are afraid of things that do not exist. We live in dread of things that might happen when 90% of the time, the things we are worried about never occurs. This is an important truth for us to understand if we want to live a victorious life.

In Job 19:25, Job says I know that my redeemer lives, and He will take His stand on the earth”. Job was able to say this because he knew God. He had a personal, intimate joyful, confident and experiential knowledge of God.

As it is recorded in Psalm 27:13, I will live and see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. With confidence in the Lord may we say even though I am going through a difficult time now, ‘I will live’.

In his book Laughter, Joy and Healing, Dr. Donald E. Demaray states that the resurrection testifies that God is in charge, not evil, not the devil. God is in control and He has the final word. May we remember that the dark times, evil or Satan are not in charge of our lives. The God of the resurrection, the God who demonstrated this tremendous power is in charge.

So, may we rest and relax in the promises of God and like Job, say, My redeemer lives and He will take care of me”.

:: Prayer ::

Dear Lord, in our difficult times, may we realize that the resurrection testifies that You are in charge, You are in control and You will see us through. In Jesus name, Amen.
